Protective concrete weight coating (PCWC) is an innovative development of Russian specialists with features of unique strength and operational characteristics, confirmed by more than 1 000 000 m of pipelines laid in the in the hard geocryological conditions, swamplands, as well as through submerged crossings of river and sea sections of trunk pipelines.

Multi-position Radar Systems in the Arctic zone of Russian Federation

Ivan is a Hydrographic Engineer with more than thirty years of experience. Comprehensive oceanographic research for port construction purposes in the Red Sea, Indian Ocean (Eritrea, South Yemen) Black and Baltic Seas. Software department chief at Navy Charts Division, senior researcher at State Navigation and Hydrographic Research Institute of MoD RF .

He has 11 years of experience as CIO of the large multi-modal freight forwarding and container transportation company Modul Ltd. Development of the original Corporate Information System and IT -infrastructure, installation and repair of electronic equipment. Technical supervision specialist for dredging works at St. Petersburg Flood Protection Barrier
Administration in 2008; director of dredging works, drilling and blasting activities at port Vysotsk in 2009; consulting engineer for the 370 ha land reclamation project of “North-West Invest Ltd. in the Gulf of Finland near Sestroretsk city; engineering-consulting services for “Yamal LNG ” on the implementation of design and survey works, construction of the LNG plant at Sabetta settlement, marine port and sea channel in the mouth of the Ob river in 2011-2013.

Vladimir graduated from Moscow Power Engineering Institute in 1960 with the degree in Electromechanics.

Research interests: electrodynamics and power electronics.

The strategic goal of expanding of oil and gas field’s development in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and related task of ensuring safe navigation along the Northern Sea Route (NSR) raise a number of technical issues, i.e. extension of the Radio Navigational Aids network, AI S and e-Navigation systems on the Arctic coast in order to cover full route of the NSR. The tasks would require construction of the extensive networks of Automated Radar Posts (ARP).

Proposals:
- Cost-effective power supply networks for sparse loads, employing thin single conductor transmission lines with resonance method;
- Passive location systems, based on multiposition
radars network, using non-rotating phased array antennae, customised for arctic conditions:
- Submarine cable lines for power supply and data transmission to AR P’s;
- Joint employment of the AR P networks for various tasks, raised in the Strategy of Development of Russian Arctic Zone.
